Let’s be real: there’s a wave of misrepresentation sweeping through culture right now. It's leaving a trail of disillusioned believers and confused seekers. People use the holy name of Jesus like a social media trend or a cash grab. Others do it as a manipulative brand tactic. This grieves the heart of God and causes many to question the faith they once held dear.
But here’s the truth we cannot ignore: when His name gets twisted, our response shouldn’t be to walk away. It should be to dig deeper. Deception doesn’t win when the Church rises up in discernment.
The Problem Isn’t Jesus; It’s the Misuse of His Name
We’ve all seen it before. Someone posts a “Christian” message dripping in judgment, greed, or ego. They slap a scripture on it like it’s spiritual duct tape. Others promote themselves as prophets while peddling manipulation for money. Some package God’s name into a hyper-stylized “aesthetic" that focuses on them rather than the Savior.
That’s not the gospel. That’s not Christ.
God was crystal clear about this:
“You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.”
Exodus 20:7
Taking His name in vain isn’t just about cursing; it’s about carrying His name falsely. When people abuse His name to elevate themselves or deceive others, it’s spiritual identity theft.
Discernment Over Deconstruction
The answer to counterfeit Christianity isn’t deconstruction; it’s discernment.
Many women of faith are silently falling into confusion. What they see doesn’t reflect the Jesus they read about in scripture. Instead of running TO the Word, they run FROM the Church.
Sis, don’t throw away your faith because of the fakes. Just because some misuse His name doesn’t mean the message itself is broken.
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
1 John 4:1
God commands us to test what we hear. You were never meant to blindly follow someone merely because they’re charismatic or viral. You were meant to be a Berean, searching the Scriptures for truth as if your life depends on it. Because it does.
“Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character… for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.”
Acts 17:11
Hurt by People, Healed by Jesus
It’s no secret; church hurt is real. Spiritual abuse is real. Many have left the faith not because of Jesus, but because of the damage done by those who claimed to represent Him.
If that’s you—if you’ve been wounded by wolves in sheep’s clothing—know this: Jesus weeps over that too.
“These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.”
Matthew 15:8
He sees what’s been done in His name. He’s not turning a blind eye. He’s not asking you to pretend it didn’t happen. He’s asking you to return to Him, not them. Allow the Healer to mend what humans broke.
He’s not the Jesus of manipulation, performance, or self-promotion. He’s the Jesus of mercy, redemption, and relentless love.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
Hebrews 13:8
Rise in Truth, Not Trends
We’re in a generation obsessed with branding over the Bible, vibes over values, and platforms over purity. But real faith? Real faith isn’t flashy; it’s fruitful.
When you see someone misusing His name, don’t judge—discern. Don’t cancel; contend. Stand for truth with grace. Because Jesus didn’t die so we could have curated Christianity; He died to save sinners. All of us, even those misrepresenting Him.
But make no mistake: a counterfeit gospel cannot save. And it will be exposed:
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits.”
Matthew 7:15-16
We don’t need watered-down, self-serving “Christianity.” We need women who are rooted in the Word, led by the Spirit, and unafraid to call the Church back to Christ.
The Real Jesus Is Still Moving
While others twist His name, the real Jesus is still healing hearts, restoring minds, and setting people free. He still loves the outcast, still rescues the broken, and still speaks through His Word. He’s still building a bride without spot or wrinkle. 💍
He’s not trendy; He’s eternal.
He’s not a vibe; He’s victorious.
He’s not for sale; He’s sovereign.
And He’s calling you deeper.
“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
John 8:32
So sis, if you’ve been confused, disappointed, or hurt by what you’ve seen in the name of Jesus, let this be your clarion call to rise again. Not in bitterness or backlash— but in a bold, Spirit-led pursuit of truth.
You don’t need a trend. You need truth.
You don’t need to deconstruct. You need to discern.
You don’t need a show. You need the Savior.
Final Word
Come back to the heart of God. Open your Bible again. Let Him reveal who He really is.
When His name gets twisted, you don’t walk away from it; you fight to restore it.
And sis, the remnant is rising. 👑🔥
Will you be part of it?
